This week in class we learned a lot about credit, credit cards, and financing. I really enjoy the modules we do because they help me learn a lot more about the subject. Interactive assignments really help me to understand more in depth the concepts.

This week in class we learned about banking. I really enjoyed doing this because we got to do interactive activities. We got to learn hands on how to use banking methods by getting a bank card and learning how to keep up with how much you spend. Interactive assignments help me understand more in depth about how things work so I really liked this week.

This week in class we learned about competition and business structures. I really enjoyed learning about competition because we were able to use real life examples. I now know why Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid are always right next to each other and it is really interesting how the competition market works.

This week in class we learned about supply. We learned that supply is the complete opposite of demand. I really like how we do interactive work to understand the concept better. Visual learning personally helps me better understand, and I like how we were able to create a scooter to show the supply curves.

This week in class we learned about elasticity of demand. We did multiple things that were interactive to fully understand this concept. I really enjoyed the group project we did this week. We made advertisements to try to get people to want to come to Weserville. I think this was a good idea because it allowed us to come up with creative ideas, and it was fun!

This week in class, we learned about different government spending. We mainly learned about the mandatory and discretionary government spending programs. I thought it was very interesting to learn about how much we spend on different things. I was very surprised that the government spends so much on welfare, social security, medicare, and medicaid . The mandatory spending is required by law and makes up more than 50% of federal spending. Discretionary spending has to approved each year, and can change. National defense is our largest discretionary expenditure, which makes up over 50% of discretionary spending. I thought it was very interesting to learn about all of these, and learn the difference between the two.

Today in class we had a town meeting. We had to make a decision on whether or not to have a Walmart come into our town. Throughout the week, or least from when I was there, we researched how Walmart could benefit the town of Weserville. We also researched how bringing Walmart into Weserville could be bad for Weserville. It had many up sides but also downsides with factors such as small businesses. We made the decision of bringing the Walmart into Weserville after some negotiating with the Walmart corporations. I really liked how we interacted and discussed with each other to come to a decision.

This week in class we learned about incentives and circular flow models. I really enjoyed learning about the circular flow models because we did it in a fun and understanding way. We all went into the gym in groups and demonstrated the way circular flow charts work with us being the different aspects of the model. I like this topic because it shows the income of producers and consumers and shows how each aspect benefits or uses the items to their advantage. It relates to today's society because everything is like a big circular motion, you have to have resources to make a product, someone to make the product, someone to buy the product, and so on.
